Screw propellers.-In screw propeller blades with ribs on the faces the ribs a on the front face of the blade b decrease in depth from the leading to the following edge and on the rear face increase in depth. The ribs may be of @gee form concentrically or eccentrically arranged with respect to the propeller shaft, or may be straight and placed at a constant or variable inclination to the shaft. The ribs may be provided on the leading side only of the blade.
