191,898. Smith, V. Nov. 21, 1921 Catches, yielding. - Sliding window sashes are supported by spring-pressed balls or rollers mounted in the stiles of the sashes or of the frame. Fig. 4 shows the ball catch preferred. The ball d, pressed forward by the spring f, is contained in the housing e attached to the front plate c by welding, brazing, or riveting. Fig. 8 shows a modification in which a roller d' is employed with a pair of springs f bearing upon it. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 28084/07, [Class 20, Buildings &c.], 7002/14, and 106,191, [both in Class 20 (iii), Doors &c.], 139,736, 160,664, and 171,156.
