Abstract

213,950. Skenfield, H. S., Webber, H. J., and Smith, S. E. Sept. 7, 1923. Holders for sliding windows.-In a window, particularly for passenger vehicles, resilient holding means are combined with balancing means consisting of a rubber cord 19 anchored to the frame and supporting the sash by a pulley 18. The holding means consist of a number of equally spaced spring-pressed balls 16 housed in sockets 14 on the sash or frame and an equal number of similarly-spaced recessed plates 12 on the frame or sash in which the balls engage. Screwed retaining plates 22 prevent the balls moving completely out of the sockets. Felt or rubber packing 23 is provided in the frame. Specifications 7082/01, and 15074/01, [both in Class 20, Buildings &c.], 26796/13, and 152,478, [both in Class 20 (iii), Doors &c.], and 185,981, are referred to.
