Abstract
191,576. Ludford, W. C. G. Dec. 8, 1921. Direct air - pressure apparatus, non-automatic. -In an air-pressure liquidspraying apparatus of the kind having a single inlet for both air and liquid and a single pump, the container a has a false bottom d, to the lower side of which is attached a valve box e provided with inlet and outlet pipes h, l. The pump a<2> passes through the bottom d into the valve box. The container is first charged with air by means of the pump, the air being drawn in through the pipe h, and ball valve f, and forced through a disc valve j<r> and a float valve k<5> into the container. The pipe h is then connected to a source of liquid, and the pump forces liquid into the container, the float valve k<5> rising with the liquid level. At the end of the discharge of the liquid through the pipe l, the valve k<5> prevents the compressed air from escaping. The under side of the valve j<7> is open to the pressure in the container through passages j<5>, j<8> in the valve seat to facilitate the charging operation.
