Abstract
14,081. Jackson, J. D. Oct. 5. Cooking-stoves.-In apparatus of the type comprising an oven proper or heating-chamber separate from the chamber containing the burner, the burner-chamber 20 is placed centrally beneath the oven 8, and a bifurcated flue 14, 13 surrounding the sides of the oven terminates in an exit 21 vertically above the burner chamber. In the oven shown, the burner chamber 20 and the exit 21 are arranged longitudinally and are parallel. The combined cross sectional area of the flues 14, 13 is equal to the cross-sectional areas of the chamber 20 and the exit 21. The door, walls, and back are lagged as shown. The flues 14, 13 may be divided by vertical partitions, which may be corrugated or may have a number of interdigitated baffles, and the oven may have a plate-warming or like chamber 29 and the usual hot-plate 31 and fittings therefor. The outlet 35 communicates with the flue 34, the junction being open to the atmosphere. Fig. 7 shows a cylindrical oven 8 surrounded by flues 13 formed by a corrugated casing 15.
