11,486. Thorssell, C. T. Aug. 9. Ammonia ; barium cyanide.-In the production of ammonia and barium formate by heating barium cyanide with water under pressure, the barium formate solution is treated with sodium carbonate to obtain barium carbonate (which is used in the production of more barium cyanide) and sodium formate, whch may be used to obtain formic acid, or, as it contains a small quantity of caustic soda, it is suitable for making sodium oxalate.
