8254. Bloxam, A. G., [Chemische Fabrik Griesheim-Elektron]. June 3. alpha-Amino- and alpha-oxy-anthraquinonemercaptans are obtained by heating alpha-amino- or alpha-oxyanthraquinone or their derivatives having a free o-position, with alkali sulphides, with or without the addition of sulphur; the products are dyes or intermediate products therefor. Examples are given of the production of 1- aminoanthraquinone-2-mercaptan; 1-oxyanthraquinone-2-mercaptan, 1 : 5-diaminoanthraquinone- 2 : 6- dimercaptan, 1-amino-4-oxyanthraquinone-2-mercaptan, and 1:4-dioxyanthraquinone-2-mercaptan. Specifications 15,242/95, 14,918/97, and 1729/11 are referred to. ethyl 1-Aminoanthraquinone-2-mercaptan ethyl ether is obtained by treating an alcoholic alkaline solution of the mercaptan with p-toluenesulphonic ethyl ester. 1-Aminoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid and 1-oxyanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid are obtained by treating the corresponding mercaptans with a hydrochlorite.
