The shaft A also carries a lever arm f connected by a slotted link g to a lever arm i on a shaft B actuating the front brakes through levers k<1>, k<2> and cables l<1>, l<2>, the parts being so arranged that the back brakes are applied first, and the front brakes are then applied while the back brake action is increasing. A hand-lever m, with a. lug n engaging a slot in the end of the shaft B, is turned to increase the grip of the front brakes, but remains unaffected during the movement of the pedal a.
