4334. Periscopes & Hyposcopes, and Youlten, W. March 19. Sights.-Relates to hyposcope mountings for machine guns having handles. According to the invention, the hyposcope is carried by a stem which has a clip or other means of attachment to the handle or handle bracket of the gun. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, a prismatic hyposcope 36 is mounted on the stem 31 which is provided with a screw clamp 32, 33, 34 for attaching it to the handle bracket. The stem may be hinged so that it can be folded down.
