Abstract
3947. Birkigt, M. March 12. Valve-gear; regulating.-An adjustable cam contact-piece e, formed with a stem d which screws into the hollow stem of the valve b<1> or into a tappet rod, is held in position or is rotated for adjustment by means of a disk c having teeth on its upper face engaging teeth on the lower face of the contact-piece e. The disk c is raised by means of the usual valveclosing spring g and is prevented from rotating relatively to the valve stem b<1>, although it is free to slide thereon. The contact-piece e is rotated for adjustment by means of a key having two pins h', Fig. 2. One pin is engaged in one of the holes in the periphery of the non- rotating disk c, while the other pin engages one of the grooves e<3> in the periphery of the contact-piece e.
