Tools; tool-holders.- A parting-tool comprises a thin strip of steel, preferably wider at the front than the rear edge, formed with a. single cutting-edge d and held under tension. in a holder shaped as shown, by a screw h. The screw f is arranged to clamp the strip and slide block g after adjustment. Both ends of the strip may be secured to sliding blocks to permit the position of the cutting-edge to be adjusted relatively to the holder. The part b of the holder may be angularly adjustable on the shank.
