Abstract

1,031,024. Toolholders. SANDVIKENS JERNVERKS A.B. Feb. 4, 1964, No. 4692/64. Headings B3B and B3T. A bar peeling tool-head comprises a base 11, bar supporting rollers 14 adjustably carried in frames 16 and a toolholder 13 adjustably fastened to base 11 by a plate 20 and a bolt 21. A tool 28 of steel or sintered carbide is adjustable in a recess 27 in holder 13 by a screw 30, and is clamped therein by a plate 32 and a screw 38. The tool has an insert 29 of sintered carbide or sintered oxide which is clamped by a plate 37, formed as a chip breaker, and a screw 39, and has a leading cutting edge portion 41, and a finishing cutting portion 42. Cutting edge 42 is inclined to the feed direction, 44, and it may be curved, or straight. The tool head may rotate with the work being fed axially and non-rotatably, or vice versa.
