Abstract

861,699. Tool-holders. JAMES NEILL & CO. (SHEFFIELD) Ltd. Dec. 8, 1959 [Dec. 19, 1958], No. 40994/58. Class 83 (3). A parting-off tool-holder comprises a shank 3 having a groove 1 for a tool 8, which is clamped by the eccentric head 14 of a bolt 15. The groove 1 is undercut at 6, and is deepened and widened from a point 25 to the end 3a of the shank 3. The head 14 of the screw 15 has an oblique face 13 which engages the outer upper edge of the tool 8 and clamps it against the faces 6, 22, the face 22 being canted longitudinally to provide front rake to the tool. The top face 24 of the head 14 is parallel to the face 2 of the tool holder, and tools of different widths may be used.
