Abstract
1292. Scott, A. A. Jan. 26. Cylinders, cooling, and passages of.-To facilitate the easy removal of a cylinder from its crank casing without disconnecting the inlet and exhaust pipes, and the circulating-pipes for the cooling - water if used, the different pipes are connected to the crank casing, and the passages leading therefrom traverse' a joint between the cylinder and the crank casing. As shown in Fig. 1, a cylinder c is secured to a flange b on a crank casing d, and a transfer passage e from the crank chamber to the cylinder and an .exhaust passage g traverse the joint between the flanges a, b. The passages for the cooling-water are not shown.
