Wire-strainers.-Comprises a special locking member or pawl for a wire strainer of the kind comprising a frame carrying a transverse winding-roller fitted with ratchet or other suitable means to prevent running back. As shown, one wire k is secured to the frame a, while the other passes through the usual guide-slot a<1> and thence is led through the roller d. At the completion of the winding operation, a stop-piece g is slid on to the squared end of the roller shaft and positioned so that side claws or arms g<1>, g<2> engage above and below the frame respectively. A cotter i secures the stop-piece against accidentad displacement.
