Abstract

19,652. Degenhardt, W. R. Sept. 10. Producers.-In a producer fitted with a steam and air supply at the base of the feed-hopper 1 as described in Specification 22,618/13, the hopper is provided with a container for sawdust and other fine fuel, which is removed bodily when it is desired to charge large logs of wood. The container 7 is formed with a bellmouth 8 of wire-gauze or perforated metal, so that air &c. can circulate through and gradually char the fresh fuel and so prevent packing.
