Abstract

16,454. Robinson, K. W., [representative of Kaye & Sons, J.]. July 10. Lock mechanism, master-key.-A door lock for hotels &c. comprises an ungated spring bolt B operable independently through two runnerplates C, C<1> and sets of levers O, O<1> by a master key and a servant's or ordinary key, both inserted in the same kevhole K<2> but turned in different directions. The runner-plate C acts on the bolt through a lever L, and the runnerplate C<1> through a projection C<2> thereon engaging a projection B<1> on the tail of the bolt. In the Provisional Specification, it is stated that the bolt may be locked by an extension of the runner-plate C, which can be moved into position between the tail of the bolt and the lock casing by a further rotation of the master key. The servant's key is smaller than the master key and so cannot be altered to a master key. Specification 5787/05 is referred to.
