Bricks and building blocks; special shapes of.- Building bricks or blocks for walls and partitions consist of a body portion having its upper and lower surfaces formed with square or with truncated pyramidal projections b and recesses c, the projections of the upper face being vertically above the recesses in the lower face. The blocks may be used without mortar or cement, or may be provided with vertical perforations to receive the mortar when used. Bonded walls can be built by the use of blocks of four sizes, the largest a being of full length and width, the width being equal to twothirds the length, and the other three a<1>, a<2>, a3, being respectively of two-thirds full length by onehalf full width, two thirds full length by full width, and full length by one half full width. The full width wall shown in Fig. 3, is composed of blocks a with blocks a<1> successively at the ends of alternate courses. Fig. 7 shows a wall of thickness equal to twice the width of the blocks a. One course composed of blocks a, a<1>, a<3> alternates with a course composed of blocks a. In a wall having a width equal to the length of one block, bricks a<3> are used at the ends. The blocks may also be used in forming right-angled walls. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4946/89, 4540/92, 22,798/97, 23,328/06, 16,983/10, and 19,074/12.
