Abstract
15,774. Soc. Anon. des Anciens Etablissements Hotchkiss et Cie. Aug. 8, 1913, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block; machine and aiming rests for; protecting from heat of barrel; sheaths. - Consists in forming the drive-rod H of a gasoperated gun both (1) with a tang v<3> which, during the initial rearward movement of the drive-rod, is caused to rise, by the engagement of inclined surfaces a<4>, v<9>, to engage a recess in the breechblock I, and (2) with an inclined rear face z' adapted to cock the hammer h<10>. The invention is shown applied to a gun of the type in which the breech-block is locked by a rotary sleeve G mounted on the barrel and rotated to unlock the breech-block during the initial movement of the drive-rod. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also:-the cartridge feed-mechanism as described in Specification 1585/15; the firing-mechanism described in Specification 1586/15; the method of mounting the firing-pin described in Specification 1587/15; the hand - slide described in Specification 1588/15; the means for adjusting for automatic and non-automatic use described in Specification 1589/15; and the aiming-rest formed of a bayonet scabbard and mounted on the barrel guard as described in Specification 1590/15. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
