Carding-engines; burring-apparatus.-In apparatus for the supplementary carding and burring of slivers in double carding-machines, arranged between the first doffer 3 or the existing burring-apparatus 4, and the finisher carding-cylinder 5, a pair of rollers 6, 7 have teeth inclined to the surface of the roller in a direction opposite to that of its rotation so as to reduce the thickness of the lap. A supplementary carding - cylinder 9 cards the lap. Other rolls 8, 10, 11, and 13 with teeth as shown, and a brush 12 to press the lap on the roll 11 complete the apparatus.
