Abstract

11,077. Wilson, J. P., and Jackson, J. F. May 7, 1913, [Convention date]. [Addition to 28,298/12.] Valves. - The valve described in the parent Specification is modified for heating the charge and consequently cooling itself by making a passage 37 for the exhaust across the hollow interior in the path of the entering charges. The stem 40 may be connected to a carburettor or may be open to the atmosphere and surround a liquid-fuel nozzle. The exhaust passage may be heated at starting by using a more readily ignitable fuel.
