9115. Kamm, L. April 9. Indicators actuated by floats.-Relates to indicators of the kind in which the movements of a float in a tube operate a twisted metal strip connected to a pointer. According to the present invention, the float d, preferably of cork with metal ends e, is prevented from rotating by a guide-rib f integral with the tube g and engaging a slot in the edge of the float. For indicators of large size, the rib f is replaced by a rod secured to the ends of the tube and adjacent to its inner surface. The twisted metal strip a is flexibly connected, as by a pivoted joint, with the pointer b, which is supported on a ball bearing consisting of a loose plate n and balls in a race m. The dial and pointer are enclosed in a glazed cap, which is soldered to the tube g and screwed into the filling-opening of the petrol or other tank.
