Actuating.-In an advertising gas flash-sign apparatus comprising a gas-valve automatically operated by a diaphragm which closes a chamber containing volatile liquid, the diaphragm B is arranged to expand outwards, to close the valve C, with a springing or snapping action from its one position of rest in which the valve is open. The diaphragm returns to its rest position, with the valve open, when the pressure in the chamber A is reduced by cooling.
