Abstract

5624. Colmant, A. L. March 7, 1913, [Convention date]. Vaporizers, external ; cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In engines in which the fuel is vaporized in the cylinder head before being injected by air into the highly compressed charge of air in the cylinder, where it ignites, the automatic admission valve 9 becomes heated and assists in the vaporizing ; the injection air is supplied by a small pump 10 and enters the vaporizer from the opposite direction to the fuel, which is controlled by a valve 6. Timing is controlled by the opening of the airvalve 12. Until the engine becomes heated, the fuel is injected in the liquid form.
