Valves; valve-gear.-A split valve 4 in the combustion chamber, controlling inlet and exhaust, is connected by a bayonet-joint to a sleeve 12 mounted in the cylinder, so that the frictional resistance to movement of the valve is balanced by the pressure on the sleeve as described in Specification 23,909/12. The valve is worked from the rod 30 by means of the lever 27, and an eccentric 25 pivoted to the sleeve at 24.
