[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Driving-devices.-Relates to an arrangement for conveying rotary motion, applicable particularly to driving grinding-machines &c. A treadle i is connected to and drives a shaft g on which are mounted two sprocket-wheels &c. l, s. The sprocket-wheel l is geared by a chain to the shaft of the machine to be driven. The sprocket-wheel s gears with another wheel r on a shaft p which carries a fly-wheel q. The rim of the wheel q is connected preferably to the boss by thin wire spokes, and may be weighted irregularly, for example by attaching a weight to the rim. The shafts are preferably journaled in ball bearings.
