Abstract

Roller copying-presses.-A blotting-appliance, which can also be used for absorbing excess moisture and as a press in copying documents, comprises a holder for one or more strips of blotting-paper or other absorbent material, and a reciprocating carriage guided by the holder and provided with rollers adapted to bear upon the absorbent material. In the form shown, the holder consists of 'end plates 11, 12 provided with clamping-plates 16 and carried by a pair of rods 10, which serve as guides for a reciprocating carriage 22 provided with rollers 20 adapted to bear upon the absorbent material 19. In modifications, a roll of absorbent material is mounted on one end plate and the absorbent material is passed beneath a spring gripping roller, across the bottom of the holder, and is secured to the other end plate either by a clamping-plate 16 or by a spring gripping-roller. A strengthening plate or liner may be carried by the end plates for the rollers 20 to bear upon.
