Abstract

Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement of; propelling; steering and balancing.- An aeroplane comprises oppositely-curved main planes 2, 3 connected together at their ends A, B but completely displaced relatively to each other. in plan, two oppositely-curved directing-surfaces 4, 5 at the rear which are also completely displaced relatively to each other in plan and are adjustable about two axes, a series of freely movable flaps 11 along the upper part of the body and two oppositely-rotating propellers 13, 13<1> arranged between the planes 2, 3. The planes 4, 5 are adjustable about an axis C<1> by cords 7, 9, when the steering column is rocked, and are adjustable about an axis D<1> by cords 8, when the steering column is rotated. Shock of landing, deadening.-The land-wheels 14 are carried by axles with converging piston-rods 15 which work in pneumatic cylinders. The outer cylinders are hinged at 15<1> to allow for the convergence of the piston-rods.
