Abstract

28,830. Marley, A. J. March 5, 1914. Tyre and like inflating valves.-A non-return valve for a pneumatic sock for boots and shoes is composed of a flat rubber tube d sealed at its inner end, which is provided with an aperture f normally closed by a flat rubber plug g. A thin rubber flap h is fixed to the tube d to enfold its sealed end. During inflating, the tube d expands so that air can pass round the plug g, through the aperture f, and between the flap hand tube d into the sock. When it is desired to deflate the sock, a piece of wire &c. is forced past the plug g into the aperture f to press the flap h away from the tube.
