Revolving-cylinder pumps; valves, arrangement of. -A motor which is applicable also as a pump &c. comprises a drum 12 with slots 10, 11, arranged at right-angles, and adapted to receive reciprocating piston blocks 8, 9. These embrace eccentrics 6, 7 mounted on the shaft 5. The drum revolves at half the speed of the shaft, and carries a sleeve 20, which acts as a distributing-valve, and puts the ends of the slots 10, 11 alternately in communication with the admission space 16 and the exhaust space 17. The drum 12 may be provided with more than two slots 10, 11, and the slots may be replaced by cylindrical chambers receiving cylindrical pistons provided with ordinary packing-rings. In modifications, either the drum 12 or the shaft 5 is stationary, and the framing revolves.
