Abstract
2834. Poyet, J. A. Feb. 3. [Addition to 13,455/13.] Fixed-abutment type.-The invention consists in modifications of the construction and disposition of the pump described in the parent Specification. In the construction shown in Fig. 6, a pump having three sliding blades Z delivers charges to a revolving-cylinder engine which rotates with the pump casing N about a fixed crank-shaft. The drum T is mounted upon an eccentric T<2> secured to the crank-shaft and is driven by a pin U working in a slot U<1>. Charges enter the pump through ports S and are delivered to the cylinders through passages V. According to modified constructions, the pump has a pair of blades and is located (a) inside or outside the crank chamber and on the crank-shaft of an engine having a pair of vertical cylinders, or (b) adjacent inlet ports in the cylinder heads, the ports being controlled by a sleeve carried by the piston or by any other suitable form of valve. A further modification is described in which a pump having a single blade is driven at twice the speed of the crank-shaft and charges, through terminal ports, a pair of adjacent vertical cylinders.
