Abstract

25,531. Poarter, E. A. H. de. Nov. 7. Sparking - plug g s as - described in Specification 27,897/02, have the two outer insulators of porcelain replaced by. an insulator of mica disks. The central electrode C has a collar D formed thereon with flat faces, and the cuter end of the electrode carries insulating-disks of mica held in place by a nut 1 and washer 1<a>, the inner end of the electrode being insulated by a porcelain sleeve F, having a flat upper face with which the collar on the electrode makes a gas-tight joint; an asbestos washer D' is interposed between the collar and the porcelain. The mica disks are pressed in the plug casing B by a gland nut A which also presses the conical portion 3 of the porcelain against a conical portion of the plug body, an asbestos washer being interposed to make a gastight joint.
