In sparking-plugs the sparking-points are insulated from one another by a washer of non-conducting material instead of by an air gap. The plug shown in Fig. 1 has a central rod A to which is secured a metal washer C. The rod A passes through the centre of the body. E in an insulating tube B. Attached to the bottom of the plug is a ring D, which is insulated from the cap C by a washer F of mica, and to which sparks pass from the cap C. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, a series of metal rings D and mica washers F are used. Other slight modifications are also described in the Specification.
