Clutches, claw; shaft couplings. - A shaft coupling comprises members a, b secured to the shaft ends and provided with flat tapered teeth c for engaging an internally-toothed sleeve h. Some or all of the teeth may be bevelled. The sleeve h may be provided with a rib j which is engaged by a member k for sliding the sleeve out of engagement and so disconnecting the coupling. The rib j may be provided at the end of the sleeve h. For facilitating the centering of the two shafts, one of the shafts may be provided with an extension carrying a ball bearing working in a socket on the other shaft. The sleeve h is of sufficient length to allow of a certain amount of play in a direction at right-angles to its longitudinal axis.
