Cranks, variable-throw.-The pin 11<b> of a variable-throw crank used in variable-speed gearing projects from a block 11<a>, which slides transversely in a slot 29 in a disk 11 on a driving-shaft 8. A pin 28 projects from the block 11<a> through a slot 29<a> into a spiral slot 27, Fig. 3, in a disk 26. As the disk 26 turns relatively to the disk 11, the pin 11<b> moves radially, so varying the speed of a driven shaft 21. This turning of the disk 26 is effected by a pin 24 in its boss engaging a spiral slot 23 in a longitudinally-slidable sleeve 22, which turns with the shaft 8.
