Abstract

Acetylene and like burners.-An acetylene or equivalent gas-burner is provided with a tubular or equivalent flame guard 22 through which an inwardlydirected current of induced air passes to passages 21 communicating with the space between a nipple 18 and the burner passage 20, the space being adjusted by screwing the burner on or off the screwed boss 17. Fig. 1 shows an acetylene lamp for firing mines. The inner end of the burner is provided with a heat-insulator 23 for enabling it to be adjusted.
