Davits comprise an open-ended rectangular frame in which the top horizontal bar to which the boat is secured by the usual tackle is gusseted to vertical end members B pivoted at C to lugs D on the deck. The frame is fitted at its base with brackets E, G angled so as to come on the deck when the frame is fully inboard and outboard. Tackle H is arranged to bring the frame inboard, and a lever taking into a socket P is employed to start the outboard movement. The boat-lowering tackle may be operated from the boat itself. The frame may be extended fore and aft to accommodate a number of boats.
