Equalizing load on wheels and sprigs; springs, mounting undercarriages on.-In order to distribute the shock on any wheel of a vehicle over the whole spring system, the inner end of each of the usual semi-elliptic springs is linked to one arm of a bell-crank lever as shown in Fig. 1, the other arms of the levers being connected by two cords which, as shown in plan in Fig. 2, are passed over fixed pulleys f, f<1>, f<2>, f<3>, and floating pulleys h, h<1>. The two pulleys h, h<1> are adjustably connected together by a turn-buckle i. The angles of the bellcrank lever arms are designed to render the system stable. Rods with chain connexions at the pulleys may be used.
