Crucible furnaces. - In an oilfired tilting furnace, the waste gases are discharged through an opening e in the part - spherical bottom, which, in the normal position of the furnace, registers with a flue f in the foundation. The furnace is fired by oil and heated air supplied through one of the trunnions.
