Abstract

3060. Duverger, L. March 16, 1912, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-The air inlet is closed by a constant-load valve k, which at starting or for slow running remains closed until the suction has produced a flow of fuel through the sprayer orifice c. The valve k then opens, and the air sweeps the fuel, that has collected in the cavity through the pipe u to the suction pipe of the engine, or to an auxiliary sprayer therein, which in the form shown is arranged in the throttle valve, air being admitted to it through the orifice t. A small regulable air inlet n delays the opening of the valve k until a suction of definite magnitude prevails in the engine suction pipe, and hence serves to determine the lowest speed at which the engine will run. The fuel nozzle may be adjusted by a screwed rod d. In another form, the air valve k is annular and surrounds the fuel nozzle.
