Abstract

1722. British Thomson-Houston Co., [General Electric Co.]. Jan. 21. Air - current indicators.-A Venturi meter comprises a cylindrical conduit 1 within which is inserted a filling- member 2 having a cylindrical portion 6 and a blunt nose 5 which may be rounded as shown or conical. Behind the portion 6 the member 2 tapers away gradually to a point 7; it is secured within the conduit 1 by radial struts 3. The annular space 8 between the portion 6 and the conduit 1 forms the low-pressure region of the meter and is connected by the nozzle 11 to the indicating - device 12. The high-pressure nozzle 9 projects into the conduit 1 in advance of the nose 5.
