Abstract
205,155. Sweeny, R. P. July 4, 1922. Filtering. - An air induction cleaning apparatus has an induction pipe comprising a Venturi tube delivering a relatively large stream, and an induction nozzle having a relatively small end inclined to the axis of the pipe and delivering fluid under pressure in a stream inclined to the axis of the pipe, the nozzle entering the Venturi tube near its contracted portion. The pipe ends in a coil delivering below an inclined shelf into a collecting-chamber carrying a filter bag. Fig. 3 shows the induction pipe formed in three sections, section 10 being formed with a cleaning-hole 17 and tapering towards the middle section 4 where it is formed with an extension through which the nozzle 14 enters above the bottom of section 4. The extension may be split to receive the nozzle, the split parts being screwed together. The final section comprises a flared coil 8 within the depositing-chamber 1, delivering below an inclined shelf 5 with a downturned edge 5<1> which deflects the dust into a bag 9, Fig. 1, secured to the chamber 1. This chamber and the bag are supported from braced standards 24 on a wheeled base having a stop 38 which prevents tilting.
