29,749. Beer, P. Dec. 24. Vulcanizing-presses.-The heating-chamber of the press is adapted to be removed independently of the cover and base of the chamber. The cover l, Fig. 1, is connected to the hydraulic cylinder u by the columns w. The base c of the heating-chamber is kept in contact with the shell a by the auxiliary hydraulic press d, which is connected with a pressure equalizer f which regulates the pressure in accordance with the steam pressure in the shell. The shell can be swung out of position, around one of the columns w, and may be raised by an auxiliary press g. Articles to be vulcanized may be placed on the plate t, carried by the trolly w<1>, the plate being afterwards lifted with the boiler shell. In order to lock the base c in its highest position, two horizontal rings having inclined faces in contact are provided, one being turned relatively to the other.
