Embossing.- Dies H for marking shells &c, are loosely supported by rubber rings L which engage grooves in the dies and are clamped by means of a screw E between plates A, B. The plate A forms part of a cap C, which is secured to the shell X by sets-crews D. The projecting ends of the dies H are struck with a hammer or the like.
