Abstract
2738. Rowlandson, W. Feb. 12. Hydraulic presses. -In steam-heated or other hydraulic box presses, the part 3 which lifts the box 1 is loose on the ram, and is lifted by the clamps 9 secured in a recess 12 when the inner bottom 4 has entered the box to the required distance. The ram can thus be lifted for repairs without removing the box. The clamps carry the sustaining- screws 13 on which the nuts can be set to maintain the pressure.
