Making hollow-ware.- Relates to means for producing seamless metal vessels, such as cans, jugs, casks, or other vessels of conical or swelled cylindrical form. A metal plate is formed into a cylinder with one end, the diameter of the cylinder being the mean diameter of the vessel to be produced, to prevent excessive expansion or contraction of the metal during working. Fig. 3 shows the subsequent operations to produce a cask. The lower end of the cylinder a is coned down by a roller press d acting in conjunction with a mould or pattern c inside. The middle is swelled by similar means, the press g being inside and the mould f outside. The upper mould h is made in a divided form. Other vessels are similarly produced.
