Filaments, supports for; repairing; making lamps; bulbs.-A filament-carrier is mounted on a conducting-stem and provided with holding and circuit-connecting means so that it may he detached without breaking the leading-in wires. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the carrier 16 is tubular and of insulating- material and the stem 9 is provided with a flange 10 connected to one leading-in wire 5 and a metal ferrule 12 connected to the other wire and insulated by a bushing resting on the flange. Two metal thimbles 18, 20 on the ends of the carrier which are connected to a pair of supporting-anchors 19, 21 are adapted to engage respectively the ferrule 12 and a clamping-nut 14. The bulb has a cylindrical extension 24 of a diameter greater than the spread of the anchors so that the carrier can be removed readily for renewing the filament; or the bulb may be in two detachable parts 1<a>, 1<b>, Fig. 4, having ground edges. In a modification, the thimble 20 is springy and embraces the stem, and the thimble 18 is threaded externally to engage an internally threaded ferrule. The carriers holding their filaments may be packed in cylindrical or other boxes.
