Abstract

26,086. Decker, W. Nov. 15, 1911, [Convention date]. Breech actions, revolving-chamber.-Consists in the combination of (1) a sliding trigger carrying a pivoted sear, (2) a firing-pin, and (3) a cylinder feed device of the ratchet type, the pawl of which is carried by a pivoted lever adapted to be raised by the trigger each time the latter is pulled. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the sliding trigger 3 carries a pivoted sear 9 which engages, at its upper end, the notch 15 carried on a collar 13 on the firing-pin 10. A shoulder 9<a> on the sear 9 bears against a shoulder on the trigger 3, so that, when the trigger is pressed backward against the action of its spring 7, the member 9 moves backward with it without rotating and cocks the firing- pin against the action of its spring 11. On striking the adjustable pin 16, the sear 9 is rotated into the chain-dotted position, thereby releasing the firing-pin which is then driven forward by the spring 11. After the cartridge has been fired, the firing-pin is held out of the path of the cylinder 2 by a buffer spring 12. The cylinder is rotated by a pawl 17, Fig. 2, engaging ratchet teeth 2<a> on the cylinder, the pawl 17 being pivoted to an arm 19 which is ratatably mounted on the frame 6 and has an inclined surface 19<a> which is driven upwards to effect the feed motion by the rear end of the trigger 3 when the latter is pressed. A spring 21 serves to depress the pawl mechanism when the sliding rod 3 resumes its forward position. The cylinder is locked in the correct firing position by a projection 22 on the trigger 3 which engages in turn, in the rearward position of the trigger, each of a series of slots 23 in the cylinder. The frame 6 has a rearwardlycurving upper part, designed to accommodate the firing-pin, and to afford a firmer grip for the hand.
