Abstract

22,556. Mauser, P. Feb. 24, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Relates to automatic guns in which the ejector is employed to hold the breech-block in its rearward position when the magazine is removed, and is controlled by a spring detent operated by the magazine, and consists in forming the ejector and spring detent in one piece, having the form of a two-armed lever, one arm of which serves as the ejector, and the other as the breech-block detent. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the locking-member k, pivoted in the breech-casing, is provided with a detent arm k<1>, which is forced into a recess in the breechblock by the co-operation of a spring f with a stud k<4> on the member k when the arm k<2>, which is normally held back by the rear wall of the magazine, is released by the withdrawal of the magazine. When this is replaced, the arm k<2> is forced upwards to serve as the ejector, and the arm k<1> is forced downwards into its unlocking position.
