Abstract

21,754. Kester, C. R. Sept. 24. Invalids' bedsteads; bedstead adjustments. - An invalid's bedstead is pivoted at 7 to a frame 5 rotatable on a stand 1. The bedstead can be tilted to various positions by a weight 10 adapted to slide on a rod 11 fixed to the frame of the bed. A spring 14 fixed to the weight 10 engages frictionally in a groove 14<a> in the bed frame to retain .the weight in any position. A frame 9 supports the bed when in an horizontal position. To assist the movement of the bed, a cord 16 is provided passing over a pulley 17 on the support 5 and attached to the bed at 18. A catch 19 engaging in a rack 20 retains the bed at various inclinations.
